Chapter History

Our chapter, Eta Xi of Phi Mu, was officially chartered in May of 2014 at California State University, Stanislaus. Since then we have expanded to over 127 members on campus. In addition, we play an active role in making CSU Stanislaus better through our academics, involvement and community service. Our academics are a priority; so our chapter offers many opportunities for our sisters to succeed here at Stan State, academically and with networking. We hold study hours and offer assistance to sisters that need help in specific areas. We encourage our sisters to strive to their best ability.

We pride ourselves on:  sisterhood, scholarship, philanthropy, diversity, history, and tradition.

Spring 2014:
Chartered on May 17th.

The chapter held its first philanthropy event, raising money for CMNH, with a watermelon and lemonade stand.

Fall 2014:
First time with a Formal Recruitment, and the Eta Xi chapter welcomed home 27 new members.

The Eta Xi chapter participated in their first Greek Week.
For their philanthropy fundraising events, the Eta Xi chapter hosted a "Paint a Pumpkin" in October, and "Warm up with Phi Mu" in November, giving all proceeds to CMNH. The chapter had also reached out to a few senior living centers to spend time with the folks there, and on Halloween they acted out a skit from Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Ending the wonderful semester with some fun, the Eta Xi chapter held their first Carnation Ball. It was a success!

Spring 2015:
Megan Holm was the Homecoming Representative for Phi Mu.

The chapter was also blessed in pledging in 10 new sisters into our wonderful bond.
Participating in Greek life, the chapter was excited when they were invited to their very first All Greek Social.
Having focused really hard on our academics, the Eta Xi chapter achieved the highest Panhellenic GPA in the 2015 Spring semester at Stan State.

Fall 2015:
The Eta Xi chapter went through their second formal Recruitment, succeeding in welcoming home 31 new sisters.

The most exciting part of this semester, besides getting our new sisters, was when Philanthropy Chairman Madison Oatley paved the way in opening communications with the hospital that we raise money for. (UC Davis Children’s Hospital). For the first time, the Eta Xi chapter was able to visit the hospital, and was able to witness what we raise money for.
Ending the semester like last Fall, the Eta Xi chapter was able to continue the tradition of holding their second annual Carnation Ball.
Spreading the Phi Mu love, the Eta Xi chapter, along with Eta Zeta, helped aid the Fraternity by speaking on behalf of Phi Mu at UC Merced, where the lovely Eta Sigma chapter was chartered in the following Spring of 2016.

Spring 2016:
Starting the semester right, the Eta Xi chapter welcomed home 7 new sisters.

Eushela Quirino was the second representative for the Eta Xi chapter at the 2016 Homecoming week.

The Spring of 2015 was marked in Eta Xi history as the semester we held our very first Dance Marathon for the UC Davis Children’s Hospital, with the success of raising $5,846.76. #FTK

Fall 2016:
In the Eta Xi chapter’s third formal recruitment they were able to welcome home 24 new sisters.

The sisters also participated in their third Greek Week, joining on the team of District 1 with the brothers of Kappa Sigma. In that week, with the team working together, they succeeded in bringing home the win.

Spring 2017:
The Spring of 2017 was a big semester for Eta Xi. Starting it off right, the sisters participated in Homecoming for the third time, and with the representative Kimberly Medrano, Phi Mu won.

After taking the win, the Eta Xi chapter also welcomed home 6 new sisters.
Making a big impact on campus, the Eta Xi participated in multiple organization’s philanthropy events. On April 7th, Jackie Jimenez won the Lambda Sigma Gamma Mr. and Mrs. Greek University.
Then, the event that highlighted the success of the Eta Xi chapter, the sisters hosted their second annual Dance Marathon raising up to $9,264.51!
The Spring 2017 was an eventful semester, and it ended in tears as Eta Xi said good-bye to the last remaining charter members in the chapter as they transitioned from Collegiate to Alumnae Members, only proving that Phi Mu is more than just 4 years, its forever!
